For a long time I have wanted to try the idea of taking at least "One PIcture a Day." I have read this discipline helps one develop photographic skills. I have also wanted to develop "sharp eyes" that can see Interesting picture possibilities in the ordinary rhythm of life. I hope some of my photos will be beautiful, others may be unusual or serve as a photo journal. Some might be humorous and I expect some will be quite boring. Hopefully some will stimulate your thoughts and reflections.

Visitor at the Feeder
With fresh snow on the ground this Red Bellied Woodpecker took the easy way to find food and made a visit to our feeder. He did not stay around very long and become very camera shy when got close to the window. This was shot from our dining room at noon with lots of bright sunlight.

Feeding Time
These immigrating Canadian Geese are not hiding their heads because they are camera shy. They are going to where the food is as they get some nourishment from plants that grow in the waters of Half Moon Lake in Carson Park.
